Our Formats
Incubate’s unique formats are easy to learn, yet hard to master
Summary
Through TownHall, students build unique skills in public speaking, thinking on their feet, and answering challenging questions.
Specifics
- Students individually deliver 2-3 minute speeches, followed by 30-second questioning
- Students may only use a 4” x 6” notecard while delivering their speech
- Speeches must alternate for and against
- Students use the Student Selection Process to determine who speaks
Summary
Through Roundtable, students exercise their real-world skills in communication and argumentation as they think on their feet and constantly respond to other arguments.
Capabilities
- 7-8 students in open, free-form debate for 20 minutes
- 3 rules: no standing up, no notes, be civil
- Students are free to speak anytime, ask questions, respond to arguments, take polls of their panelists, etc.
- There is no designated order of speaking
